Ryan Lewis Photography is open Tuesday-Sunday from 9AM-7Pm. Outdoors shoots are usually scheduled during the best light of the day (usually in the mornings or before sunset). I also schedule sessions around nap times, because as we all know, no one wants to drag a tired toddler to a photo session, right? I work around your family and your schedule.
Payments via PayPal, Venmo, cash or check are all fine. A deposit is required to schedule your shoot and final payment is due the day of your session if you are paying by cash or check. If you are paying by Venmo or PayPal please pay your balance in full before your session.
I usually schedule appointments 2-3 months in advance. During my busiest months (September-December) I recommend booking your session at least 4 month in advance to ensure you get the date and time you need.
At the start of a session, I often take several traditional, posed photographs. Many clients enjoy this style for their holiday photos, gifting to family members or for traditional wall art. I then spend the remainder of the shoot using a documentary style of photography. This style is wonderful for capturing the personality of a child, the relationship between partners or between the parent and child. These images are often my client's favorite because the photographs are very personal and touching. These images beautifully capture and preserve special moments and the subject's personality.
I shoot in either outdoor or indoor locations. I am comfortable shooting in both environments and the location is often simply a function of the client's preference. For indoor shoots, I also use natural light, studio lighting or a combination of both. The type of lighting I use is based upon the client's desires as well as the availability of natural light in the home.
The location of your shoot is up to you. Some people enjoy having their family photographed in the comfort of their own home. Others prefer the natural beauty of the outdoors. It's important to think about how you would like to use the pictures and whether you want them to feel more formal or casual and relaxed. Here are some great locations for outdoor shoots:
